Gas Pedals... Part Deux.

More news out today about the Toyota gas pedal recall.
Toyota has extended the recall to the 2010 Pontiac Vibe, which is the joint sibling of the Toyota Matrix, and the 2010 Toyota Venza. The Recall is also being started in Europe and China.

Toyota announced that not all vehicles of each model under the recall is affected. The dealership will scan your VIN to see if your pedal is apart of the recall.

Toyota is also awaiting the National Highway Safety Administration's approval for a remedy, which includes adding a sort of spacer which will increase tension on the pedal, according to sources of the Wall Street Journal.

Toyotas, Gas Pedals, Recalls, Oh My!

Hello Everyone, I wanted to welcome everyone viewing our Blog. This is an exciting new endeavor we wanted to get into.

I thought I would start my first blog with something that is very recent, and very surprising in the automotive world. Toyota's huge pedal recall. According to NHTSA, Virtually every model sold by Toyota the past year (Avalon's recall goes back to 2005 model year, Tundra and Camry goes back to 2007, Sequoia goes back to 2008) is being recalled being the accelerator can become hard to depress, slow to return, or worst, stay stuck in position. Toyota hasn't figured what action to take in order to remedy the situation. The Models in the campaign include the Avalon, Camry, Corolla, Matrix, Rav4, Highlander, Sequoia, and Tundra.
The recall is so extensive, that production of these vehicles has been halted temporarily.
So, if you own one of these vehicles, please contact your Dealership.
Included below is a link to the recall.
